Fine Art, Travel and Wildlife Photography

Ranjan Ramchandani is an internationally recognised photographer specialising in fine art, wildlife, travel and cultural photography. His diverse portfolio reflects years of travel and a strong interest in people, wildlife and the natural world.

As a self-taught photographer, Ranjan developed his style through experience, patience and curiosity. He uses composition, timing and atmosphere to give each photograph its own character and emotion.

Celestial Bodies

Ranjan takes wildlife photography in a new direction with his Celestial Bodies series. The project combines his original wildlife photographs with digital collage and painting.

An article about the possibility of creating an artificial base on the Moon inspired the series. The concept led Ranjan to imagine an alternative reality where intelligent wildlife could escape to the cosmos.

Each artwork places animals within a new celestial environment. Some animals explore their surroundings alone, while others gather together. The images communicate playfulness, freedom, joy and discovery.

Ranjan originally photographed the featured animals in Singapore, Kenya, Botswana and India. He then used digital editing, collage and painting techniques to transform the photographs. This process allowed him to preserve the natural character of each animal while placing it within an imaginative new world.

International Recognition

The Celestial Bodies series earned an Honorable Mention at the International Photography Awards (IPA) in 2021. It also received recognition at the 17th Pollux Awards in the Digital Manipulation and Collage category.

Ranjan also photographs people, traditions and everyday life during his travels. His cultural photography captures expressions, environments and experiences that reveal something about the people and places he encounters.
